In this video we get a call from our friend Josh at ESS boardstore in Jindabyne, Australia. The head boot fitter Joey has offer to make us a custom set of snowboard boot insoles. I’ve suffered from snowboard boot pain in the past and it’s a very common problem among snowboarders. Joey is going to take us through the entire process of building the custom snowboard boot insole and show us how they’re made. If you want to check out more videos from Joey I’ve linked his channel above. Also visit him and the crew at ESS Boardsore in Jindabyne! Thanks for watching!

  1. This is an awesome video. I have always had problems with my feet falling asleep in my boots. I have a really high and strong arch, so anytime I give it too much support it cramps up. I currently don't even put insoles (even the ones that come with my boot) in. Is there a way to increase the amount of space by the arch in the boot? The bottom and then middle toes go numb first. I ride with 32s and they have been heat molded already.

  2. I recently bought a set of Remind Medic insoles (I'm nowhere near anywhere that does custom insoles, would've preferred customs). I use them in my 32 TM3's, which come with a hyped up and technical insole. Although the adjustable arch support of the 32 insoles does help, I found the aftermarket ones to be much more comfortable and much better at shock absorption.

  3. Hi Guys! Me and my wife just had our first ski today and we both had rental equipments.
We both had sever pain that we didn’t enjoy if not traumatize us both. I really want to learn and make it a good experience, any advice or had the same problem?

  4. Glad I found this video! I am an Aussie who has travelled to Japan for snowboarding, and funny enough I found Joey in Myoko! He whipped me my mate up with a pair of custom foot beds, he also had some really good advice for setting up our bindings and gave our boards a top quality hot wax. Foot beds are the go for anyone with sore feet, makes for a very comfortable ride. Joey's a top bloke and I recommend everyone to go see him!

  5. Hi Kevin/TJ. Love your channel! Custom insoles look interesting. I'm constantly looking for womens snowboard boots in a wide fitting. I have small but fairly wide feet, so boot pain across the width of my foot is always an issue! I know there are several men's boots in a wide fitting, do you know of any boots / particular brands that are a more forgiving women's boot? Thanks!

  6. 4:31 "I think there going to be GAME CHANGERS" everyone go get yourselves some footprint game changers for $20-$40 you can get yourselves some extreme impact absorption, custom insoles. I have flat feet and they work better than my $500 orthotics I got from the foot doctor.

  7. Gotta be careful with moulded insoles. They're comfortable because they support your foot, but it means your foot gets weaker over time from not having to work as much. It's much easier to injure a weak foot. Cheaper and better for your foot to do strengthening exercises.

  8. he said that the footbeds would outlast the life of the boots themselves but im just curious as to how much longer? is there a specific time frame to that or does it depend on amount of use?
